Terms of Service

Effective August 1, 2026. These terms are between you and Snoot, a Washington non-profit corporation ("Snoot Safe", "we").

What Snoot Safe is

A check-in service: you check in on a schedule to say your pets are looked after; if you miss it, we send you reminders for a while and, failing that, ask the contacts you chose to step in, with the pet-care information you provided.

What it is not

Snoot Safe is a best-effort backstop. It is not a medical-alert device, an emergency service, or a substitute for one. How soon your contacts are asked depends on your schedule and the reminder window you choose, and can take up to about a day on the default settings. Messages depend on carriers, networks, devices and third-party providers we do not control, and delivery is not guaranteed. Do not rely on Snoot Safe as your only safeguard for a person or an animal.

Your responsibilities

• Add only contacts who have agreed to step in for your pets. Each of them confirms with their own number before we send them anything at all, and they can step down at any time.
• Keep your contacts, phone number and pet-care information accurate and current.
• Keep your account credentials and your contacts' reveal PINs private. You are responsible for what happens with home-access details you choose to store.
• Use the service lawfully and only for its purpose. Do not use it to send unsolicited messages to anyone.

Text messages and calls

By verifying a phone number you consent to receive check-in reminders, verification codes and alert-related texts and automated calls. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help. Contacts hear from Snoot Safe only after they verify their own number on the invitation you send them; every later message carries a step-down link and STOP works the same way.

Billing

$4.99 per month or $49 per year, charged to the card you provide when you subscribe. Each month includes 30 text or voice reminders, 1 alert event and 1 practice alert; beyond that, 10¢ per reminder, $1.99 per alert event and 99¢ per practice alert, billed to the same card. If you go past the allowance, reminders keep going; the extras are billed at these rates. If a payment fails, the service continues in full for 14 days while we retry and tell you; after that, check-ins are paused until payment succeeds, and we tell you that too. Cancel any time from your account; refunds are at our discretion, ask us. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Accounts and termination

You may delete your account at any time, which erases your data and cancels your subscription. We may suspend or end accounts that abuse the service, the people it messages, or our providers' policies, and we will tell you why.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Snoot Safe is provided "as is", we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including harm to an animal or a person that the service did not prevent.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States. Disputes will be resolved in that state's courts, or by binding arbitration if we both agree.
